About this course
One of the hardest parts of being the skipper is to have the skills and confidence in close quarters situations.
This course is aimed at the new boat owner or someone who wishes to learn new techniques and brush up on their marina and berthing skills.
If you have ever had trouble parking, get into a tight area with wind and/or tide then you know what this course is all about. We will teach you simple effective techniques to evaluate and effectively manoeuvre the boat to where you want it to be.
Draw on our experienced instructors skills and knowledge and find out what a boat really can do and what it can’t.
The friendly and relaxed atmosphere allowed us to learn without any stress. Being able to have a go without excessive instruction at times to make our own mistakes was very beneficial. We also find the way SSA teaches and gives feedback very gentle and enhances the learning experience no end. Dave and Wendy Milway, Caboolture.
The practical was all very good. It has given me allot of confidence to have a go myself on my own boat and importantly it’s shown me what I should be practising. I’ve been able to pick up some practice techniques which I should be able to now use to increase and consolidate my skill level. Tim Crane, Brisbane.
